Hello to all the wonderful friends and subscribers of Mr. jstickmann !

This post that follows is in honor of my brother and friend, of whom you all know as "jstickmann" - artist extrordinaire ! I am reluctant to post this only due to current emotional reasons. 

As I sit here at the stick's computer making this entry, I am surrounded by a myriad of his artwork... all shapes, sizes, media and styles. 

If it could represent a feeling.. an emotion... a moment ... he captured it in his own unique way.

And captured it in such a way that it brought those feelings.... emotions... moments... to life in each of those who viewed the piece - or 'pieces' I should say.  When I say 'surrounded' that is exactly what I mean ! 

Countless have been the supply runs... more paint !  more ink !  more water colors ! .... more "what the h*ll are you using now ? "  !! 

As fast as it came in, he was producing more finished pieces.

All the while never tiring of it... never 'stuck' for a concept or idea.  I believe he's taken more photos with my camera than I have !

But what also strikes me most as I sit here, are the photos, poems, gifts & souveniers from so many of you fellow Xangans ! The friendships made in this .. 'imaginary' ..community are truely representitive of what 'real' communities should be.  You have all touched him in a truely deep and personal way.

If you received a comment or 'props' from him, I can assure you, that I know of no one else whose sincerity could surpass his. If he was not in the studio working on a piece, he would most likely be at this terminal, working on a new entry or keeping up-to-date on his subscriptions... and of course, commenting on as many as he could, being a beleiver that "if you visit you should comment."

You all have touched his life and made it so much better than most will ever begin to know.  Some of you though,know who you are  !

I could go on singing his praises, but I know that's not what he wants.

Afterall you all know those things already !

With a heavy heart, I must break the news that my brother passed away suddenly and most unexpectedly last evening.

Don't Grieve for me, for now I'm free

I'm following the path God laid for me

I took his hand when I heard Him call,

I turned my back and left it all,I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,

Then fill it with remembered joy,

Of friendships shared, a laugh , a kiss,

Oh yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,

My life's been full, I savored much,

Good friends, good times,

a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,

Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me,

God wanted me now,

He set me free.

If you are a beleiver in Christ as your Savior, you can be comforted in the knowledge that my brother was a beleiver and had a wonderful relationship with the Lord. 

If you are not, I'm sure he would ask you to look into it, not trying to 'convert ' you, as that is done only by God and not man. He would be more than happy to tell you of what this simple act of Faith had on his life. I know, because we talked at length on this subject at one of his art showings the night before he passed away.

The gifts he has shared on this site are but a few of what he was blessed with.

You, his dear friends, are another.

Between his writings and his artwork, posting one piece a day, I could keep this site going for sometime to come... perhaps, with the help of his nephews whiteyman89 & pkmd09 , I shall try to do that as best we can.

On behalf of myself and my family, thank you for your friendship & care of and for 'stick'

Live well and cherish each moment with those you love, for we never know when we shall be free.
